PURPOSE: To provide assistance and support for families/children, who have experienced tragedy, illness or loss, that are currently enrolled in TRES or have a family member at TRES.
GOAL: To assist TRES families, in times of tragedy or hardship, by providing essentials or assistance such as school supplies, clothes, field trip and classroom fees, meals and other incidentals that under normal circumstances may seem minor, but in times of tragedy or illness would be helpful.
  1. Short term needs- $100 limit/family. $25 spent initially. If needs are greater, the guidance counselor can contact PTA VP for further assistance, up to $100.
  2. Long term needs- There is a spending limit of $500 per family/per year. Up to $100 will be spent initially. If further assistance is needed, guidance counselor will contact PTA VP for request up to $500.
  3. Immediate needs for program, under $100, can by purchased by TRES CARE representative prior to receiving approval from PTA president.
  4. The type of expenses which may be paid by TRES cares include, but are not limited to: school supplies, clothes, books, magazines, educational supplies, athletic/cultural arts fees, field trip/school fees, meals.
  5. The types of expenses which may not be paid by TRES CARES include gift cards, household bills, prescription drugs, medical bills, and medical equipment.
  6. Long term and short term needs should be determined by guidance counselor. All TRES CARES candidates will be referred to guidance counselor, needs will be assessed using guidelines and request form will be filled out and given to PTA VP. All information will be kept confidential!
  7. If there is a surplus in the PTA budget of the prior year, by recommendation from the treasurer, up to $3000 can be carried over for the TRES cares program. This transfer should then be finalized in the Budget and general membership of the PTA will vote and sign off on it.
  8. Requests are handled on a case by case basis. PTA officers can deny request if necessary and if funds are no longer available.
